I fell in love with a camera when I got my first one, at the age of 7. During the years as life “happens” I took some snapshots on and off and as the budget allowed me.
It was in the later years of my life when I started to become more serious about photography and have been doing it as an avid student since 2007. One thing about this field, you are never bored. With the fast developing technology there is always something to learn.
I started my photography studies in 2007 with an internet based course through, (then called) “The School of Photography” in Ireland and continued my studies in 2008 through the National College of Photography .
In 2012 I left the corporate world to follow my dream and completed a Digital Photography Certification Course with Johnathan Andrews School of Photography in Johannesburg, which included cinematography.
I won first and second place in 2006 in the only photography competition I have ever entered held by Mutual and Federal Insurance.
I hope you enjoy this site with the services and products I offer.
I’d like to share some random and personal pics (or foties, as I’d like to call it) with you since I bought my first DSLR (Nikon D80) in 2007.
My favourite places:
1. Phalaborwa and Hoedspruit area
Lived there for thirteen years before moving back to Gauteng. The excitement as a new day starts in the Kruger National Park, will forever be fixed in my memory.
The awesomeness to be on top of Mariepskop looking at the Blyde Canyon and dam.
2. The Cape Peninsula and False Bay
3. The Great Karoo
A piece of my heart and soul stayed behind. Maybe it’s the vast open spaces… maybe it’s because I can drive miles and miles on a tar road without any traffic …. maybe it’s because it has the canning ability to let me feel part of this expansive universe which I call home … but in the end it’s a soul thing….
4. The Fever Tree Forest
My favourite animal:
Still can’t understand how they survived for 10,000+ years with a limited gene pool and fertility issues, and all they got going for them is their speed. Did you know they overheat (just like a car) when running at top speed?
To travel every gravel road in the Karoo!!
I want to know what’s going on in Pampoenpoort! (Photo taken with cell phone)
Anybody interested to sponsor a reality show?
I’ve come to realise that photos bring us joy. Especially the ones of the people we love, the places where we find soulfood and the animals that made a footprint in our hearts.
Have a wonderful day 🙂
